I've spent 15+ years working with developing readers and over a decade running my own independent school. My students have always been my greatest teachers. They’ve shown me what actually works and how powerful the right instruction can be when it finally clicks.
Helping struggling readers isn’t just my work. It’s what drives me. When I dove into the science of reading and structured literacy, it transformed how I teach and what my students achieve.
And that’s when I knew this wasn’t just something I cared about.
It’s something I advocate for.
Why I believe in this work
Learning to read is one of the most important opportunities we can give a child.
When reading clicks, confidence grows. Curiosity grows. Possibilities grow. But when reading doesn’t click, kids don’t just struggle academically. They start to question themselves.
That’s why I believe literacy is not a privilege.
It’s a right.
